About Us

The plant was founded in 1976 as a car repair enterprise specializing in major repairs of LAZ-695 and LAZ-699 buses. In addition, the plant produced AKTB-114A and AKTB-118 washing machines. In the 1980s, the plant mastered the assembly of LAZ-42021 diesel buses.

In 1994, the enterprise was transformed into OJSC “Stryy Auto”. By this time, orders for new buses stopped coming, and the plant was engaged in irregular car repair work. Since 2003, the company has been cooperating with “Etalon” corporation. Initially, the plant was engaged in the conversion of BAZ A079 “Etalon” buses into school buses within the framework of the Ukraine “School Bus” state program. In the same year, 2003, the plant assembled a BAZ 2215 “Delfin” small-class bus, but its serial production was transferred to the Chernihiv Bus Plant. As a result, the A075 bus, developed on the chassis and units of the Russian ZIL-5301 “Bychok” truck, was delivered to the Stryi Auto assembly line. The bus was produced in suburban and urban versions. As part of the State program of Ukraine “School Bus”, “Stryy Avto” implemented its own version of the school bus based on the A075.

In 2010, with the arrival of GALAZ and LAZ engineers at Stryi Avto, A0755 buses on the chassis and units of the GAZ-3310 “Valdai” car and A07562 suburban bus on the Mercedes-Benz Vario chassis, of the same type as the GalAZ GALAZ, appeared in the company’s model range -3207 “Victoria” and GALAZ-3209, respectively.

As of 2023, three bus models are being mass-produced at the plant – A07563 and A102 “Karpaty” for tourist transportation and A07562 for suburban, city transportation and small private transport companies.

Since the end of 2021, the plant has been conducting its own development of its electric truck, now there is already a serial, certified prototype that is undergoing factory tests in city conditions.

We also specialize in creating turnkey LOFT furniture for hotels, hospitals, parks, etc. We also manufacture bodies — intercar connecting elements for passenger transport. In addition, we provide a wide range of additional services — from the creation of drawings and complete projects to the implementation of agreed project solutions. For this, a production base has been formed and the necessary material and technical resources have been collected.

The Striy avto production base covers an area of more than 20,000 m2. Both production workshops and warehouses are located on the territory. The main components of our production:

workshop for the production of metal structures and bodies;
powder paint shop;
workshop for assembly of finished products;
storage facilities.

We have our own design bureau and laboratories for conducting trials and testing products. Our engineers use innovative ideas, international standards, leading technologies in their development. Striy avto branded products participate in various international exhibitions. All types of products manufactured by our company are certified according to international standards, and our company is certified according to the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

Our bodies are used in various industries: vehicles of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, evacuation vehicles, ambulances, UN vehicles, armored cars, as well as the body of trams, buses, and others.
